Planning your wedding starts
with order — not inspiration

The Calyx System is a complete digital planning system — not a blog, not a planner, not a checklist.

You have a vision.

You just don't yet know which decision unlocks it.

The Calyx System shows you what to decide first — so every choice after that gets easier.

Everything changes when decisions happen in the right order.

Overwhelmed brides become confident planners.

And the planning feels as good as the party.

JOY IS SERIOUS BUSINESS

Your wedding isn't a project to manage. It's the most important party you'll ever throw.

The Calyx System was built for couples who want the day to feel like something — not just run smoothly.

Structure isn't the opposite of joy. It's what makes joy possible.

This isn't for everyone. If beige planning binders are your thing, no judgment. But if you want something that actually makes you want to sit down and plan — keep going.

You got engaged and suddenly everyone has an opinion.

The Pinterest boards are infinite.

The vendor emails start immediately.

And somewhere underneath all of it is the wedding you actually imagined — the one that feels like you.

The Calyx System shows you what to decide — and when.

Most couples plan in this order:

Venue

Dress

Budget

Guest list

Vision

The Calyx order:

Vision → Budget → Guest list → Venue → Everything else

Because your wedding isn’t just a series of decisions — it’s an experience you’re creating.

Not a checklist.

A sequence
you can see
before you choose
anything.

So every decision
feels intentional —
not reactive.

What's Inside The Calyx System™

Guided frameworks, editable tools, Canva moodboards, Google Sheets, timelines, and more — everything sequenced, nothing to hunt down.

Built from real wedding planning workflows — refined into a system you can follow.

"I almost booked our venue before we'd even talked about whether we wanted a big wedding or an elopement. The Jumpstart made us have that conversation first — and it turned out we completely disagreed. We saved ourselves from a $12,000 deposit on the wrong decision."

— Maren T., married October 2025, Denver CO

"Every other planning resource starts with the dress or the venue. Sara starts with you — your values, your actual budget, what this day is really for. I finished the Jumpstart in one Sunday afternoon and felt more confident than I had in three months of pinning."

— Olivia & James R., engaged January 2025, Austin TX

"I'm a planner by profession and I still needed this. The sequencing framework alone was worth ten times the price. I kept trying to do everything at once. This told me exactly what to decide first — and what to ignore until I was ready."

— Diana C., event coordinator & bride-to-be, Charleston SC

Most couples plan their wedding backwards.

I built a system to change that.

I'm Sara Alpert, founder of Calyx & Cabana — a wedding planning system where bold meets calm, and beautiful weddings actually get planned.

I'm a RISD-trained designer with forty years across interior, landscape, and organizational design. I've spent my entire career doing one thing: taking complex, chaotic, important projects and making them beautiful and navigable.

Between designing spaces and helping people declutter their lives, I noticed something — chaos looks the same whether it's in your living room or your wedding planning folder.

When I looked at wedding planning I saw exactly what I always see — a meaningful human experience being handled in completely the wrong order. No real roadmap. No sequence. Just a pile of checklists that tell you what to spend money on but not what to actually decide first.

I studied how weddings come together and fall apart. I looked at what separated the beautiful, stress-free celebrations from the ones that spiraled — and it was almost never about budget. It was about order. About making the right decisions before anyone picked up a contract.

What I kept seeing: The most beautiful, stress-free weddings weren't the ones with the biggest budgets. They were the ones where the couple had made the right decisions before anyone picked up a contract.

That knowledge lives in the heads of professionals. It isn't written down anywhere. So I wrote it down.

I built Calyx & Cabana because I believe every bride deserves planning materials she actually wants to open. Something beautiful she can pour her dreams into — whether she's spending $8,000 or $80,000. Something that makes her feel chic, intentional, and in control from the very first decision.

Planning your wedding should feel like getting dressed for the best party of your life — not filing your taxes.
